Olympic Games Knowledge Services - Development of IOC Knowledge Repository
The task was to create a scalable system that indexes and presents the knowledge required to host the Olympic Games - any Olympic Games - in a way that can be used by future event holders. Drawing upon our skills as information, instructional and system architects, Nine Lanterns has an ongoing partnership with OGKS to develop the principle system that supports their clients.
Nine Lanterns has made updating and maintaining the knowledge reuqired to run an Olympic Games anywhere in the world, cost efficient and flexible by developing tools for OGKS staff to index audio, video, images, MS Office documents in xml using metadata. This in turn allows OGKS to reduce the time and costs associated with the planning and delivery of the Olympics as the world’s largest event.
This was all achieved with a coordinated team of client vendors and subject experts based in Europe and the United states taking advantage of a 24hr working day.
