Social knowledge sharing online in a corporate environment
Submission selected for the conVerge09 State conference to be held at the Frankston Arts Centre and Chisholm Institute, Frankston from 3-4 December, 2009. Howard Errey & Steve Grocott will present on 'Social knowledge sharing online in a corporate environment'.
This is what we'll be presenting, illustrated with examples of social learning projects:
"There is a lot of tacit knowledge within an organisation which is often unrecorded or goes unrecognised. Knowledge leaders can therefore be reluctant to share what they know, and it can be a challenge for individuals to know where or who to go to for assistance with an issue. This presentation looks at ways that online environments can recognise and retain knowledge in a corporate setting. It will look at how both a personal and professional online presence can bridge the gap between new graduates and experienced staff; and look at measures of e-learning success through engagement and retention."
