eLearning breakfast - why not come along?
The presentation will centre on the statement:
"Why it really is important to sit up and take notice of elearning (when it wasn't before)..."
We intend to make the case that elearning has become cheaper, better (than face-to-face) and eminently accessible and relevant. Not only this, it is now able to meet the expectations of both the new generation of workers, as well as those whose training traditions have always been based firmly in the classroom.
Interested?Well, you should be. It really isn't good enough anymore (has it ever been good enough?) to hold up a piece of content and try to pass it off as learning. It matters very little how you 'dress' content - it remains valueless unless it impacts the learner, by causing change in the way they think about something or even more radically, what they do (how they act). And to create this sort of change in the learner, you really need to start (and finish) with the learner when you are designing learning experiences - not with the content to be learned.
Anyhow, there will be more to say on this in the presentation... why not come along and participate?
