1. Business Development Manager

Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and direction of business development activities.

Possessing exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills you will consult directly with target markets to build new relationships and identify opportunities aligned to Nine Lanterns vision to 'create engaging learning experiences that inspire change'.

You will agitate for opportunities to improve the way existing clients and potential clients deliver training. You will be capable of proposing a solution that is informed by Nine Lanterns distinct approach to learning design and that clearly demonstrates the value it will deliver.

Utilising your technical prowess you will be expected to liaise with both internal and external project stakeholders. You will have experience of web application and bespoke eLearning development and be able to communicate clearly the features of Nine Lanterns Moodle based LMS offering and Drupal based Community Platform.

You will have 5+ years experience as a BDM and be comfortable working closely with senior Learning & Development managers and business unit managers.

You will be expected to generate in excess of $1m new business annually and be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of a proposal through to client acceptance.

2. Web Application Developer

We need a Web Application Developer with experience in web application solution architecture, who is team orientated and willing to share knowledge, and who enjoys a challenge. You will be responsible for developing and supporting web based learning objects, Drupal modules, modules in other web based systems and further development of our web based applications.

Being a vital member of a vibrant and highly skilled team comprising project managers, illustrators, graphic and instructional designers and programmers, the right candidate will possess:

  • Desire to learn new technologies and about eLearning
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team based environment
  • Strong creative problem solving skills, drawing on your experience and environment to solve project problems
  • Close attention to detail, being able to identify scope creep and ensuring all requirements are met through high quality code
  • Well organised, with the ability to manage your own tasks to the specified deadlines
  • Flexibility, being able to cope with changes in priorities and approaches in real-time


This role requires the following skills:

Must be able to demonstrate expertise in:

  • PHP
  • MySql - database design, SQL
  • Javascript, AJAX
  • HTML, CSS


Would be advantageous to demonstrate knowledge in any of the following:

  • Drupal - administration and development
  • Moodle - administration and development
  • Understanding of eLearning technologies - SCORM/AICC, LMSs
  • Web administration - such as DNS, SSL, etc
  • Linux administration - such as permissions, mail servers, etc
  • Apache administration
  • MySQL administration
  • Experience with version control systems (SVN)
