CEO and Chief Learning Architect

Steve Grocott has been developing interactive educational experiences for since the early Nineties, as the Producer of numerous award-winning (including a UK BAFTA nomination) new media projects for Laser Disc, Interactive Television, CD-ROMs and the Web. Through Nine Lanterns a company he founded in 2001, he is constantly helping organisations to raise the bar in eLearning delivery.

From January 2004, he had the honour of heading the peak industry body in eLearning for three years, as President of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association in Victoria. He is also a founding member and Secretary of the eLearning Association of Victoria. Currently his focus is directed towards implementing the next phase in workplace learning: collaborative learning combined with formal learning resources to achieve measurable, talent driven learning outcomes.

CFO, Project Management Office Director, Product strategist

Michael Tan has been involved in elearning for over 4 years. Mike is strategically minded leveraging experience in business and in-depth understanding of technology to ensure high value solutions with minimal benefit erosion. Mike is leading the product development strategy at Nine Lanterns. Mike is currently undertaking a Master's of Business Administration degree, reinforcing his strong business acumen and experience in business process improvement. He has completed a double major in Bachelor of Computing, and has over 14 years of IT experience including Enterprise Architecture at Foster's Group, and Consulting at Hewlett Packard. Mike has also led development teams and project managed implementation and development projects.

Russell Grocott

COO, LMS and Hosting & Support Solutions

Russell has been actively involved in eLearning since 1995. After enjoying a successful period as a Senior New Media developer within the Learning and Teaching Institute at Sheffield Hallam University. Russell left Hallam in 1998 to found Can Studios ltd, with the vision of establishing a specialist eLearning development company.

Over the next decade, Russell lead a highly skilled and innovative team to develop literally hundreds of hours of electronic learning and established Can Studios as one of the leading eLearning providers in the UK. Prestigious clients have included Reuters, Barclays, major educational publishers; Harper Collins, Nelson Thornes, LearnDirect, Channel 4 and Non-Governmental departments; The Environment Agency, The Highways Agency and The British Education and Communications Agency (Becta).

As a full technical member of IMS Global, Russell collaborated to further the global adoption of interoperable elearning, contributing to specifications supporting online assessment, accessibility and metadata.

Since relocating with his family to Australia in 2008, Russell has been working with Nine Lanterns alongside their experienced team as a Solutions Architect and Producer on a growing number of high profile project
